I tell you todays day didn’t go so good, people seemed to be mean for no reason, and some problems popped out of the blue, You tell me “Boo hoo hoo, cry me a river,” “These things that happened to you, happen to me and everyone too. When I was your age, I didnt think about these things, just pushed it through, it did well for me, maybe it’ll do good for you.” “When I was your age, people were people, not marshmallows like you,” “Toughen up kid, cause the real worlds not gonna be so easy on you. there’s no time for anyone to care about your feelings, so its best you get up, dust yourself off, and go do the do’s.” “Real men are built by hardships, ain’t no one gonna be easy on you. “ “The world’s a bad bad place, no point in being a softy for you, you’ll realize it when you grow up, I’m hard on you because I care for you.”
Well, how do I cry a river, when the river is the same one you crossed to go to school, how do you expect me to tell you the highs, when I cant share my lows with you You tell me the worlds a bad place, yet you expect me to go on living in it, do you really care for me, or are you confused on how to lead another, and if that’s true, don’t worry, I got you, Ill take care of your feelings, and mine too.
Home’s a place, where injured soldiers come to rest too, Sure the worlds not gonna go easy on me, but maybe that’s exactly why I needed you to, if not your feelings, what makes you, “you”, cause then maybe if someone cared about your’s, you’d be a better you too.
